I too feel drugs need to be controlled.  In my area drugs are
seen as cool by school kids.  I experimented with drugs when I was younger
and thank goodness I realized they were a waste of time and not necessary to
have fun.  I worry a lot about my younger brother who smokes cannabis.
It has made him grumpy and he now has a short memory span.  He has committed
a whole host of petty crimes and so far he has managed to evade prison or YOI.
He gets everything he needs from my mum and dad but thats not enough.  I reckon he steals things to pay for his habit, but whats next.  Crack cocaine and robberies?
I cant get through to him and if I try to he just says that I am no angel!  Which is
true but I want better for him.  But then again if drugs were controlled does that mean that at 18 he can walk into a chemist or cafe and get it for penny's if not free?

I'm sorry your having such a hard time with your brother.  These problems
face us all and as a result of that we learn from our mistakes.  In time your brother will realize what he is doing is wrong and will change his ways.  In the mean time you have to sit tight and just be there for when your brother is ready to change, then offer him all the support you can.

Good Luck
